At their meeting on Tuesdsay, November 13, the LAYL A-Squad team was presented a check for $250 for winning the grant writing contest that Cheryl Pongratz developed for the LAYL teams. The teams had to participate in a grant writing seminar on a Sunday afternoon and then prepare a grant application. The A-Squad submitted "LAYL Wild Day" as their grant project which is planned for Saturday, April 19, 2008. The project involves a weekend day where high school students connect with elementary age kids in various fun activities such as a pet parade, Mad Hatters costume party, and games.
