How can teen boys make their dreams a reality? This program supports young men aged 14 - 19 who are on the path to being productive, successful adults, and helps youth on the wrong path make better decisions. EYF helps youth:
- Clarify dreams and values - what do they want?
- Define and overcome challenges - what is stopping them?
- Identify personal assets - what have they got going for them?
- Design a personal blueprint for success - how do they get there from here?
- Set attainable short and long term goals with realistic timelines.
- Identify people and resources that will help them accomplish their goals.
- Develop a positive attitude, the courage to change, and a trust that they can be successful.
Scott Johnson is a teacher at Barranca Elementary, a speaker at many educator workshops on gender differences, and a Restorative Justice Facilitator. This program is funded by the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.
